Moved and Somewhat Unpacked

Almost a month has gone by now and we have moved and settled in, for the most part. I now live in the Continental Ranch area of Tucson, which is on the northwest side. So far, the immediate neighbors are cordial, I have met a few around the house. The only thing I sort of found odd is that neighbors from my old neighborhood would wave back when I drove by and waved. And these would be just random neighbors around the neighborhood that I have not met. Here, I get odd stares. Maybe I just need to grow into this one.

The End of an Era – Doing the Moving Game

Well folks, it has definitely been awhile writing. There has been a lot of things that has happened this month that includes work and real life. I thought I would make a quick post to let you all know that I’m moving. I will be still be in the Old Pueblo (a nickname of Tucson, AZ; apparently another nickname is “the 520″), but closer to the Marana area. The move date is sometime in the next couple weeks. Mostly everything is about packed and it should be a fairly painless process. Most of this week and next will be preparing the house for new tenets. I will post again when we are out of the place that I called home for the past 3 years…

A memorial to my late aunt

Sorry, I haven’t blog in forever…

Well, it’s times like this that compel me to write. And I have noticed that most of my profound writing ((in speech and coding alike) has came past midnight, it must be a college thing)… I have had to process a lot this month. First, the senseless lost of life and injuring of the people of Tucson this past week and this. I also lost an aunt, who is my father’s younger sister.

~Dear Friends~

I am reaching out into my virtual community this morning for help and assistance.

My mother passed away Monday, Jan. 10 at 6:50pm in Santa Fe, NM.

Some of you may remember me speaking of her health conditions and complications with liver disease. She has been a very strong and sturdy woman for the past 5 years and battling various effects of liver disease, and now she is at peace.

My family and I have come together and made arrangements for her to return to her birthplace in Tuba City, AZ, on the Navajo Reservation and to be buried amongst 2 of her brothers & sisters. As any death is a surprise, this particular situation was unexpected and no prior arrangements where made about funeral details or costs. We have found significant support from the Navajo tribe to cover the basic costs of a funeral service. But we are coming up short on the funds to cover her burial and grave.
If you can help my family and I by making a donation and contribution towards my mother’s burial it would really make a huge difference for us.

We need to pay the entire cost of the burial by this Monday, January 17.
The amount of money we are trying to raise for the burial and grave site is $3500.
You can pay via Paypal or deposit directly to Wells Fargo or Chase bank.

In lieu of sending flowers, please simply make a contribution towards the burial.

It saddens me that I have lost an aunt who I have met in real life, but in circumstances like this, seems to have gained a new appreciation of life. This weekend, I have re-acquainted with my sisters and brother (Nicole, Caitlin and William) in a new, and awesome way. And I believe, they too. had the same experience, perhaps even more.

And now, I do regard them as my sisters and brother, by blood. And, if you know my family, I have never had a sister… Nikki, Caitlin… you are my sisters… and William.. you are my brother…

YouTube Friday: “YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011″

Previously, I have posted a YouTube Friday clip: “YouTube Symphony Orchestra @ Carnegie Hall“. Now is another opportunity to hear from the second iteration of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra and the concert is now hosted at the famous Sydney Opera House, in Sydney, Australia in March 2011.

Veteran’s Day 2010 – “Freedom is not free”

I want to honor all who have served and sacrificed in the armed forces. I deeply appreciate what you all did for this country, and all the freedoms, liberties and the democracy that we have today. We have come from a past that has seen many wars, and many have shed blood to protect this country. And for that, I am thankful.
